Meet John Gray
John is an Outward Bound Instructor, a bicycle tour guide, and a computer programmer. He aspires to be a decent writer and photographer. He is learning more each day about how to laugh at himself and not take things too seriously.
John enjoys good simple food, sitting on the porch with friends watching time go by, and running alone on long mountain pathways. He loves going to where the ocean meets the land to smell the salt in the air and hear the sound of waves rolling across the beach. John likes a hot cup of coffee and something good to read in the early morning light.
John wants simplicity. He would like to be a minimalist, but struggles mightily with strong desires to have the latest gadgets and to live and dine above his means. He and his wonderful wife recently made the first step toward a simpler life by selling their home and moving into a small apartment, shedding many possessions along the way.
John loves to travel as much as he loves the security of home. When John is doing one thing, he often wants to be doing the other. John is trying to learn how to live in the present. He is finding this difficult, but well worth the effort.
Meet Justinn Steffe
J loves moving fast and slowing down in equal balance. Putting that balance into practice looks like rising with the sun to drink an amazing cup of coffee while reading a good book closely followed by spending most of the daylight hours paddling whitewater or riding her mountain bike and finishing the day with a craft beer shared with good friends.
Adventure, exploration and simplicity have fueled many of her most recent decisions and paths. It is a continual challenge to blend financial and time freedom in a way that is sustainable. Luckily, she has a long standing love of spreadsheets and has been building them for years to manage her personal finances.
She splits her work time between being an Outward Bound instructor, teaching paddling classes at a local college and trying to embrace her entrepreneurial spirit. Trying to find ways to continue meeting life at its edges is continually in the forefront for her. She believes that when you seek you often are able to find things that you did not anticipate.
